Fifteen African countries finally adopted the DVB-T2 The Community Development Southern Africa announced its decision to adopt the DVB-T2 standard for the entire region with a population of over 250 million people in Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The Development Community of Southern Africa (SADC) has announced that the region, which has a population of over 250 million dollars, will adopt the DVB-T2, the second generation DVB standard digital terrestrial television. The decision to adopt DVB-T2 was taken after rigorous testing and in-depth analysis comparing between ISDB-T, DVB-T and DVB-T2 standards.
A special committee of the SADC was commissioned to conduct the necessary assessments and advise Member States on the feasibility of the different technical standards in the face to adopt a common standard. The 15 Member States represented by the SADC are Angola, cuckoo clock parts Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. cuckoo clock parts
The decision of the Committee of SADC in urging members cuckoo clock parts to adopt the DVB-T2 with MPEG4 compression states has been announced by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic cuckoo clock parts of Namibia and President of the SADC Committee, Joel Kaapanda . The recommendations urge SADC Member States have already started to implement the DVB-T standard to migrate to DVB-T2.
The UK launched earlier this year the first services in DVB-T2. Since then, Italy has launched payment services TV DVB-T2 followed by Sweden. In early 2011 Finland who will start their HD services in DVB-T2. Right now, they are pursuing advanced studies in Austria, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Germany.
With the positive results of the implementation in the UK, every day there are more countries that are considering the adoption of DVB-T2, including Australia, cuckoo clock parts India, Kenya, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
