A Gibson Les Paul for most guitarists a kind of Holy Grail. However, their acquisition remains a dream for many, as a original Gibson now time has its price. In general, therefore just like to differ from beginners on classic prints that fill the music stores and online stores in more or less good quality.
Harley Benton goes with his Guitar Kit a step further massapequa ny and offers a kit to Paula - and the price of a pickup. In the spirit of a Swedish furniture store you have the opportunity to assemble his dream guitar itself. This, however, one needs not only technical massapequa ny skills, but also a minimum basic knowledge about the structure of electric guitars. But much can be revealed before: Thanks to the excellent massapequa ny instructions during assembly we had no problems massapequa ny and everything worked directly with no problems. We have extensively documented the construction of the guitar for you, then you are almost at the birth of Paula live there. User Comments
I would advise also to a higher value kit, because even if it is to be a self made guitar. Let's be honest: A Paula, who does not sound like Paula and consists only of cheap materials, is far too expensive even for 89 .
@ Chris: I have a ML-Paula. Price painted 189 euros. But as far as the material, massapequa ny it looks EXACTLY like this from here. Exactly the same neck, same crappy pots. So, the switches and pots are absolutely in ML for the scrap. I replaced everything. So I would have known that before, I would have taken this kit.
I do not want to be petty, yes, but the bridge is not an ABR-1 copy, but rather a Gibson Nashville bridge copy (ABR-1 is screwed directly into the wood, etc. ..) ;)
To your question about the painting: I did a bad experience massapequa ny with it. I then my Ibanez RG abgeschleift and repainted with Bauhaus Matt Black. In retrospect, of course, a sin of youth, but this one has a very thin paint - and Matt is really something else. A matter of taste! Thanks for the great test. I am thinking to test the times. massapequa ny A bit ordinary electronics and a few rich humbucker and I imagine it as a real nice project. Thank you!
You do not paint a guitar. It is oiled and waxed. My Rockinger Strat is treated for 25 years like that. This looks great, protects the wood is very good and also feels great. Also, this guitar is very nice to look at as a treated natural wood finish.
@ Matze: Paint is very possible for ordinary handyman. Depending on your taste and wood to offer 3 Optionen.1. Water-soluble Pulverbeize / Klarlack2. Öl-Finish/Schellack3. Opaque paint can also möglich.Einlesen one be very good musicians in the board and the special guitar forums. It requires some practice, of course, already, is clear. So? Try on samples (wood residues, if need ask a carpenter ;)) ... In ML Factory gibts of the competitions in 2010 and 2011 ne gallery with tens Selbstbauten and sometimes construction massapequa ny and Lackieranleitungen. Or, at least what people have done to your instrument.

Today I finished the kit. The body took the stain in some places is not good, there was probably somehow glue or something else pulled into the wood. So had to grind a lot. Similarly, the pots and the toggle switch after several massapequa ny coats of paint could not screw in properly. So you have to rework mit'nem Forstner drill. The pots are total crap. Now to the positives: It's fun to play, to build the thing. And you get a playable instrument. Neck and rest of the hardware massapequa ny are fine. PUs sound, which of course they do not have the sound of madness. But that can be changed, yes. As a solid foundation of guitar kit is definitely! For the price you can not expect miracles. Therefore, the price-performance ratio is more than 100%.
I ordered the kit from Thomann and'm really massapequa ny more than happy with what I got. First of all, the sound: Assembled massapequa ny set properly and the guitar sounds really good I think. The neck pickup has a really fat, bluesy sound, which is good for solos. The bridge pickup is great for all distorted and sounds very good. Clean is the sound a bit weak, I agree to the article. I have a Yamaha RGX 121 Z is somewhere in the region of 200 euros and the pickups in my opinion massapequa ny clearly muddy
