Shirokuro, Japanese for "white-black" is a creation of the German choreographer Nicole Beutler and Japanese pianist Tomoko Mukaiyama. In Beutler's work is never far away musicality. Mukaiyama's maryvale rosemead concerts geuigen invariably of a great physicality. So it is not surprising that Beutler was looking forward to working with a pianist and Mukaiyama like the medium of dance would explore further. Core of their collaboration is the Pianosonata no. 6 of the Russian maryvale rosemead composer Galina maryvale rosemead Ustvolskaja. Her music is sure to be familiar uncompromising. Its musical force to put Beutler and Mukuiyama in a performance that will make contrasts physically palpable. Lighting designer Jean Kalman will stand ready.
